As Business Continuity Manager of the Year in BCI’s C&R Awards India 2009, and with nearly 25 years’ experience in IT Industry, Daman is Vice President with BCMI India and & Head – Green IT Practice at its division Continuity and Resilience. He has earlier worked with Steria as Head Business Continuity Management (UK, India) & Head Green Activities (India). Initially he worked with TCS for over 20 years in various roles and positions. He has rich experience in Business Continuity Management, Business Excellence and Consulting (Quality/ Process/ Malcolm Baldrige). He is a Lead Auditor for BS 25999 (Business Continuity Management System). His BCM expertise is being used by the BSI in the Review Panel members for PAS 200 (Publicly Available Specification 200 - Crisis Management - Guidance and framework).
Daman is an Associate Member of the BCI (Business Continuity Institute), Senior Member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and Secretary of IEEE Delhi Section. He is a member of AIMA (All India Management Association) and Member of DMA (Delhi Management Association).
Daman has traveled to or worked in Scotland, England, Netherlands, France, Zambia, USA, Indonesia and Spain.
Daman’s two obsessions are:
· “Giving back to society”, by means of Free ENGLISH Coaching (over 200 students attend, in the 8th year now), blood donation, food donation, and participation in clean/green environment movements, Adult Literacy Program, sponsoring education of about 50 students, including two at Graduation level.
· “Interaction with students”, by means of IEEE activities (meeting and motivating students, conducting lectures, sharing knowledge with them, helping them with their presentations). He is on the Corporate Advisory Board of ABES Engineering College Ghaziabad. He is also part of the Corporate Advisory Board at the GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida.
He has delivered over 200 talks/ workshops in national and international events – the highest being at the BCI Symposium 2007, Amsterdam in October 2007, the BCI Symposium 2008, Brighton in October 2008, and the BCI’s BCM World Conference 2009, London in November 2009. Daman is also a motivational speaker and has conducted over 30 sessions of Possibility Thinking workshop in TCS, Xansa, Cambridge School, Institute of Vocational Training, Udayan Care NGO, and Arya Kanya Sadan – where over 1000 people have benefited and have provided excellent feedback.
He has experience of working with CII (Confederation of Indian Industry for over three years as the Convener of the CSR Taskpanel working on Communities and Disasters.
Daman has the experience of convening/ coordinating/ advising national/ international conferences/ workshops.
